The real problem of Indian youth, particularly those in the rural heartland is employability and not unemployment. Creating employability through skill development of youth in the rural, semi-urban areas of the country is agenda of the i-Jeevika program at IAP.

With Information Technology becoming the prime driver of almost every aspect of our lives, training the youth in this field not only helps them earn a livelihood, but also gives them a platform to grow and compete on an equal footing with fast developing urban youth. With this perspective in mind, we render training to rural youth in use of ICT. Under the i - Jeevika program skill development of the students is done with extensive use of Information Technology, Communication and Technology (ICT) - as a subject and a mode of imparting knowledge.

This program is available through company owned, franchised training centers and also rural service delivery centers (RSDC) across Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Rajasthan, Delhi, Bihar*, Jharkhand*, Orissa*, West Bengal*, Chhattisgarh*.

Some of the courses for training under this include:

AADHAR Operator/ Supervisor (UID):

Unique Identity Number (UID) or AADHAR is an initiative of Government of India. As a part of the Aadhar program 1.2 billion citizens have to be enrolled and issued a Unique Identity Number. This effort requires skilled, trained and certified operators, supervisors and technical resources at the grass root level, across the country. An estimated three hundred thousand plus trained operators/ supervisors are required to implement this project on an ongoing basis and this requirement is expected to go up as UID gets integrated to other ongoing G2C services and schemes like PAN, Passport, Driving License, and Voter Card etc.

Students are imparted end-to-end training for use of computers, laptops, UID software applications, biometric devices, IRIS cameras and fingerprint scanners and other computer and hardware related fundamentals.

Retail Management:

With an explosion of shopping malls and departmental stores, employment opportunities have increased in the Retail Management sector. Through our centers, we train youths to become retail management professionals; how to process merchandise shipments, achieve store sales and profitability, communicate with clients to gain their satisfaction and operating of stores. Specific training is also imparted to the students on use of billing software, inventory management software and hardware.

Personality Development:

The growth of an individual hinges on the personality he bears. Personality is a broad term, which represents a person's behavior, communication skills, interpersonal relationships, attitude towards life , communication (oral and written) and ethics. We understand that personality development is necessary for the citizens of India to prosper and therefore deliver personality development training to underprivileged youth. I Jeevika courses are designed for bringing out the personality of the students by teaching them the art of the effective presentation, elimination of confusion, essence of time management, increased morale, better career prospects, personal acceptability and growth.

Today's economy requires familiarity with computers and the Internet.
